Supernova Business Launch Competition

Logo for Supernova Business Launch competitionThe North Central Washington Economic Development District (NCWEDD) is proud to present the Supernova Business Launch Competition. A competition committed to growing small businesses in NCW while overcoming barriers to employment. Barriers include but are not limited to veterans; people with disabilities; people without a high school diploma or GED; unemployed youth; justice-involved citizens; women and underrepresented minorities. The NCWEDD has partnered with organizations (such as NCW Veterans Info) throughout Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan and Ferry Counties as well as the Colville Confederated Tribes to assist the makers, dreamers, and entrepreneurs in successfully creating a solid business plan. NCWEDD will be offering workshops to assist those wanting to take the next steps in launching a small business, as well as other tools and resources needed to build the shining new stars of our region.

 

The 16 semi-finalists were announced in early July, with round 1 public voting running through 31 July. Four of those semi-finalists identified as either Veteran-owned or employing Veterans: Tonasket Tire, Downtown Bike Cashmere, Pateros-Brewster Community Resource Center, and 12 Custom Homes. Here’s hoping at least one of them makes it to the Finals!

 

Round 2 voting among the Final 4 ran 10-14 Aug. The main event on was held on 20 Aug, 1-5pm, in a virtual format.
