Veterans across the country have encountered companies charging fees for assistance with VA disability claims outside the traditional VA-accredited claims process. These are often called “claim sharks”.
One company many veterans may recognize is Trajector Medical, LLC, formerly known as Vet Comp & Pen Medical Consulting, LLC.
Veterans who paid Trajector Medical or Vet Comp & Pen for assistance obtaining or increasing their Department of Veterans Affairs disability benefits may have claims in Trajector’s pending bankruptcy.
Trajector Medical and affiliated companies filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 23, 2026 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division.
Bankruptcy filings indicate that approximately 180,000 disabled veterans and/or others receiving disability benefits may have potential claims against the Trajector bankruptcy estates.
A Proof of Claim is the document through which a veteran formally asserts a claim for money against Trajector Medical or another Trajector debtor. The Bankruptcy Court extended the General Claims Bar Date through October 31, 2026.
Filing a claim does not, by itself, cancel, reduce, or alter your VA disability benefits. It does not seek to reopen your VA disability rating or underlying benefits award.
If you have reason to file, Proofs of Claim may be submitted electronically through the Court-authorized bankruptcy claims administrator, Verita.
Veterans should not assume that Trajector having their records, an outstanding balance Trajector says is owed, or involvement in other litigation automatically protects their rights in the bankruptcy.
