Remembering 9/11, twenty years later

While the withdrawal from Afghanistan began just a week before, folks across the country gathered on September 11, 2021, to honor and remember those lost twenty years earlier in the deadliest attack on American soil. Here in North Central Washington, there were multiple such events.

In Cashmere, at the 9/11 Spirit of America Memorial, over 600 individuals gathered to honor and remember. Guest speaker included David Beamer, the father of Todd Beamer who was killed along with 43 others on United Airlines Flight 93. North 40 Productions put together a video of the entire event: https://vimeo.com/604328085/b651b6ad39

In Manson, the American Legion (Post 108) and Chelan VFW (Post 6853) came together with support from Manson High School and the Manson Fire Department to host an event at 8:30am on 11 Sept. Photos and story can be found on the Manson American Legion Facebook page.

There may have been other events, these were just the two I heard about. If you know of others, please feel free to comment.
