As vaccination numbers increase and COVID case counts decrease, a lot of our usual events are “returning to normal” albeit with additional safety precautions still in place. Veterans Day events around the region were a good example of this.
A lot of Parades returned, as gathering outdoors seems to be somewhat safer than indoors. Check out some of the local news coverage:
- Wenatchee World Photo Gallery and brief article about the Wenatchee parade
- KPQ article and photos about the Wenatchee parade
- Ephrata parade and luncheon covered in Columbia Basin Herald
- Quad City Herald covers school events from Mansfield to Pateros
Additionally, Posts around the region were active in various Veterans Day events, such as:
- Manson American Legion Post 108 – event photos on Facebook
- Chelan VFW Post 6853 at the Chelan Veterans Day parade (photo, right)
- Tonasket AL Post 82, Oroville AL Post 84 and other veterans in Okanogan county joined in a parade leading to a ceremony at the Armed Forces Legacy followed by lunch at Post 82.
I’m sure there were more, but this was what I found through social media or received a tip on via email. If you had an event for Veterans Day, we’d love to share it for you! Send photos and stories to whatsnew@ncwveterans.info or use the form found here.
