On 27 May 2021, the VA announced two major decisions related to presumptive conditions associated with Agent Orange and particulate matter exposures during military service in Southwest Asia.
1] VA has added three conditions to the Agent Orange presumptives list: bladder cancer, hypothyroidism and Parkinsonism.
2] After a recent study, the VA is reviewing the possibilities that Veterans who served in the Southwest Asia theater of operations during the Persian Gulf War and/or after September 19, 2001, or in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan during the Persian Gulf War may in fact have been exposed to particulate matter pollution that can generate chronic respiratory conditions, which may include asthma, rhinitis and sinusitis.
