Chelan County officials are seeking Purple Heart recipient nominations for the 2025 Hall of Honor.
Known as the oldest U.S. decoration for military merit, a Purple Heart is awarded to veterans who have been killed or wounded serving their country.
In 2024, the local community came together to honor and recognize Purple Heart recipients (as reported last August). The initiative served as the region’s way of recognizing those who have earned this prestigious award. Now, the community annually identifies local Purple Heart recipients to be inducted into the Hall of Honor.
Both living and deceased Purple Heart recipients can be nominated as long as they are from Chelan or Douglas counties. Nominations close 18 July – please see the original article on NCW Life for details on how to nominate a local Purple Heart recipient for recognition at the 07 August event.
