Leading the Way at the Top Dog Parade

35th Annual Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade

Members from the Lake Chelan Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6853 and the Manson American Legion, Post 108 combined forces and lead the Top Dog Parade through downtown Chelan on Saturday – March 19, 2022.

For several days leading up to the event, rain was forecasted but when the Chelan Country Fire Department’s siren signaled the start of the parade at 12:00, not a drop was felt. Even with the questionable forecast, East Woodin Avenue was jam-packed with onlookers. As the veterans marched down the parade route, they were greeted by people clapping their appreciation and, in some cases, saluting the veterans. Veterans were greatly appreciative of this public support and recognition of their service.
