Civil Air Patrol updates – May 2021

Pangborn Squadron has had several promotions, awards, and training days in the last 2 months. Although we lost 5 cadets in 2020, we have gained 8 new cadets.

Our Squadron was recently selected to be a participant in a nationwide Aerospace Education Program. They only selected 100 Squadrons in the nation to take part of this program. The program is strictly completed by cadets; Senior members are not allowed to help, only supervise. The project will be sent to the AE Center and launched into high orbit above the earth, then sent back to the squadrons for evaluation. The squadron project selected as the best will receive a $5000 check and a certificate.

Major Morris Hahn was selected on 2 of June, as the new Deputy Group Commander for the 10 Eastern Group Squadrons. This will be an additional duty assignment for him.

Major Doug Taylor will be leaving our squadron and moving to Colorado. Major Taylor has been in the Civil Air Patrol as a Senior for 11 years, he will be missed.
